Healthy Chocolate Mousse Recipe
So I want to let you know how to make this really
healthy chocolate mousse recipe that my little brother claimed
to be “quite delicious”. See, my little bro Ricky, enjoys
ruining his body by consuming lots of foods laced with
artificial flavors and preservatives on a regular basis. He
often turns up his nose on healthy diet and raw food
recipes.
Well, to each their own I suppose, but what peeves me off is
that he eats plenty of that nasty stuff yet doesn’t seem to
gain weight! Maybe he has an extremely high metabolism, I don’t
know…Okay, sorry I digress.
Anyway, even my little bro who is a junk food connoisseur
enjoys this healthy chocolate mousse recipe, so if you’re
somewhat of a health nut like me, you’d probably enjoy this
recipe too J
Required tools: A 6-inch round spring pan and a Cuisinart
model DLC-10S food processor. Actually you can use whatever
food processor you already have at home. What I have in my
kitchen currently is the Cuisinart model DLC-10S which is a
very powerful food processor. Just thought I share this info
with you…
Ingredients Needed to Make This Healthy
Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Ingredients for Making Base of Chocolate Mousse
Pie:
5 or 6 strawberries (halved), 2 tablespoons of cacao powder,
half a cup of almonds, half a cup of soaked and pitted dates
and lastly, half a cup of fine desiccated coconut.

Halved strawberries
Directions for Creating the Base of the
Mousse:
Step 1: Dump all almonds in the
food processor and whirl away until they turn into fine
powder.
Step 2: Throw in dates, cacao
powder and desiccated coconut and process once again until the
mixture combines well.
Step 3: Set the 6-inch round
spring pan on the table and press mixture into the pan. Around
the sides of the round spring pan is where you insert the
halved strawberries. Press each halved strawberry into the
sides of the mixture as per example below.

sides
Step 4: Store away the mixture in
a freezer.
Now we’re going to make the delicious filling!
Ingredients for Making the Chocolate Mousse Pie
Filling: 1/3 cacao powder, 1/3 cup coconut oil, 1/3
dates (soaked), 1 cup cashew nuts (soaked), 1 ½ tsp of ginger
(minced), 2 tsp of lemon juice, 1/8 cup agave, 1/3 cup of
coconut oil, 2 tsp sweet soya sauce, a pinch of salt and ¾ of
plain water.
Directions for Making the Filling:
Step 1: Put cashews in the
processor and grind until fine powder.
Step 2: Put coconut oil aside and
add other ingredients into the food processor. Blend the
mixture until texture becomes smooth and creamy. Make sure to
taste the flavor of the mixture and initiate adjustments if
necessary.
Step 3: Remove base mixture from
the freezer. Pour filling mixture carefully over the base. You
want the halved strawberries to be visible once mixture is
removed from the pan (like in the picture above).
Step 4: Once you’ve finished pouring the
filling mix over the base, store the whole thing in the
refrigerator and allow it to set overnight. This is to ensure
the flavors are fully infused within the mixture.
Optional: Add a couple more halved
strawberries on top for decoration and to further enhance the
flavor of this healthy chocolate mousse recipe.
Alright, grab a fork and enjoy the mousse!
